Baskets - Handwoven Baskets Online – Artisan-Made Storage & Home Décor
Crafted by Hand, Built for Everyday Life
Kalapuri's basket collection brings together handmade storage baskets crafted by skilled rural artisans. Each basket is handwoven from sturdy polypropylene (PP) strap, also known as packing patti — a durable woven plastic that is washable and easy to care for. The result is a lightweight storage basket that holds its shape and works hard in daily use.
Every basket is handwoven at Kala-Darpan, Kalapuri’s basketry centre in Soni village, where around 200 rural women have been trained in this craft. What began in a few homes is now a shared space where experienced artisans teach new learners.
A Basket for Every Corner of Your Home
From the kitchen to the bedroom, these multipurpose storage baskets fit naturally into any space. Use a grocery storage basket to organise your pantry. Keep linens tidy with a handwoven basket for linen storage. Place a decorative basket with a lid in your living room to reduce clutter without losing style. There's even a picnic basket with lid for outings and a sturdy market tote basket for daily errands. Whatever the need, there's a size and style here for it.
Colourful, Durable and Reusable
Each basket features vibrant colours and traditional weave patterns that add warmth to any room. The PP strap weave is reusable and long-lasting, so one basket serves you for years instead of a season. Whether you're looking for colourful storage baskets for home décor or simple home organisation baskets, the collection covers both without compromise.
Storage That Looks as Good as It Works
Good home organisation shouldn't mean hiding everything away. These woven baskets with lids keep things out of sight while still looking considered and intentional. They work as decorative storage baskets on open shelves, as reusable grocery baskets with lids in the kitchen, or simply as a thoughtful gift. Buy handwoven baskets online in India and bring a little artisan craft into your everyday spaces.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are Kalapuri baskets made of?
Each basket is handwoven by women artisans at Kala-Darpan from polypropylene (PP) strap, also called packing patti. It is lightweight, washable and holds its shape through years of daily use.
How do I clean my basket?
Baskets are washable. Rinse with water, or use a little shampoo on stubborn stains. Don’t soak for long, and dry in the shade — long exposure to direct sunlight can fade the colours.
Which basket should I choose?
Choose a full-size lid-top basket for groceries, market trips and home storage, or a short basket with lid for lunch, picnics and smaller items. Looking for an everyday handbag? See our handwoven Koodai tote bags.
How fast is delivery?
Shipping is free across India. Orders are dispatched within 1–2 working days and usually delivered within 3–7 working days. Cash on Delivery is available at no extra charge.
What is the return policy for baskets?
Baskets can be returned if they arrive damaged or defective, or if we sent the wrong item. Please record an unboxing video when you open your parcel — we need it to process a claim. Approved claims receive a full refund, and if the fault is ours we reimburse your return shipping. Baskets cannot be returned for change of mind. Email kalapuri.sales@gmail.com or WhatsApp +91 9066 087 087.
